Reports To:Quality Control Lab Manager




Perform HPLC/UHPLC, and GC method development and method validations

Prepare solutions, compounds, and reagents for testing purposes

Perform daily testing of products

Perform peer review of other analyst laboratory notebooks for completeness, accuracy, and quality

Report results of testing

Write, edit, and/or review standard operating procedures (SOPs), Standard Test Methods (STMs), and equipment qualifications

Train analysts on instrumentation and processes as needed

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilitiesinclude the following (other duties may be assigned):

Develop and validate HPLC/UHPLC and GC methods for KUSH AROMA products

Operate, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment, including, but not limited to, analytical balances, pH meters, HPLC/UPLC, UV-VIS spectrophotometers, FT-IR/NIR spectrophotometers, GC, viscometers, pyncnometers, density meters, refractometers, polarimaters, etc.; daily duties may include running instruments and sample testing

Maintain a working knowledge of departmental SOPs and STMs; write, review, and edit SOPs, STMs, reports, and equipment qualifications; maintain an approved manual containing all policies and procedures and ensure it is available to all personnel responsible for any aspect of the testing process

Review peer notebooks; collect, analyze and interpret lab results; take steps necessary to correct inaccurate data

Train analysts on instrumentation and processes

Qualifications, Education, and/or Experience

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or related scientific field

5-7 years of HPLC/UHPLC and GC experience in a GMP environment

Experience working in a GMP environment with technical understanding of a Quality Control laboratory a plus

Experience in technical document writing such as SOPs, STMs, equipment qualifications, etc. a plus

Experience with USP, ISO, and AOAC methods

Experience in method development and validation

Experience using Agilent, Waters, and PerkinElmer software

Experience operating, maintaining, and calibrating lab equipment

Experience in training analysts on instrumentation and processes

Experience in HPLC and GC method development and validation

Knowledge or experience in microbiological testing a plus

Computer Skills: Demonstrate expertise with Microsoft products and other applicable software or applications

Employee may work in a warehouse environment, needing to wear sweatshirt or specific OSHA safety gear.

Employee may work in a farm environment and in colder temperatures, needing to wear warm clothing and applicable OSHA safety gear.

Employee is required to understand proper safety procedures before operating any equipment.

Employee may be required to be certified to use equipment.

Employee may be required to wear appropriate OSHA safety gear.
